In 1971, Bill and Annette Emerson bought into a national franchise system and immediately set out to become leaders in the staffing industry in South Jersey and Philadelphia. The Emerson’s continued to grow the business to include a wide range of specialties and a larger geographical focus. As growth accelerated, the once small family franchise came to the point where it consistently led the nation's franchise system in revenue generated. The company also decided it was time to become independent from the franchise.

One of the most gratifying aspects of building and maintaining a successful staffing firm is following individuals as they progress in their respective careers. There are cases too numerous to mention of people who began their employment histories twenty to thirty years ago as temporary employees for the Emerson’s who now head major corporations, or hold a variety of high level positions in law firms, hospitals, engineering firms, and a multitude of other businesses. In many instances these same people also obtained their current positions through the efforts of the recruiters at Emerson Personnel Group. Of course, in their new positions of authority, it is not unusual for these individuals to turn once again to the Emerson’s to help them meet temporary and permanent staffing needs in their own companies.
